The European PGA Tour is truly a world-wide affair with tournaments in over 20 countries on four continents. So it says something about the caliber of Spanish golf courses when five events are contested on them. It's also a great indication that Spain golf holidays are world-class affairs.
The very popular Costa Del Sol region of Spain has nearly 50 layouts including the famed Valderrama Golf Club and its nearby neighbor, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, the first Robert Trent Jones design in Europe.
If island golf is what you seek then Gran Canaria is for you with its nine courses including Salobre Golf and Resort, and Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas that dates back to 1891. The layout was designed by Scottish architect Mackenzie Ross, best known for the Ailsa Course at Turnberry.
I would love to go for a round on the spainish courses, even do a tour of the five you have suggested at some point but really I dont have the money right now. I did however get to suprise my wife with a mini break to hereford in the belmont hotel. It is a golfing hotel so I go a round or two in over the weekend and she got a break from the kids. It was a great weekend for it too as the sun came out.
